Multi-Award Winning Artist, Russell Blacker (aka The Bandit), has released his latest CD of Original's. Alice Springs is the follow up release to the Darwin Album.
Russell has toured Australia and the US with some of the biggest names in the Music Industry but has never lost his desire to return home to his beloved Northern Territory. His love of the Territory and the Australian Lifestyle is the motivation behind his song writing.
Russell's has played beside the Emmanuel Bros and many other big names. Songs you hear on any album of Russell's are not only written by him, but are composed by him also. Most of them are written based on the stories he has heard from people around the campfire or at a bar with around 90% of them being written about Territorian's.
Russell is a 'True Blue Aussie' who was born and bred on a Cattle Station in the remote outback of Australia. He lived in Alice Springs for several years before settling on a small block 'out bush' close to Darwin in the Northern Territory.
Russell’s beliefs are strong and simple - Good People are Good, Bad People are Bad - no matter what colour, creed , religion or beliefs they have. Russell finds his own religion in reality and nature.
Russell is a see what you get person, and you’ll find that in his music. From women, good ol' fashion bar brawls, to sitting by the camp fire with a cold beer and an old guitar he brings you the flavors of our land with a real honesty and humor that is the bush!
Russell is also the lead guitarist in the Arthritist Brothers. This is where the fun begins as the Front Man for the Arthritis Brothers is The Bandit.......
One thing that you can gaurantee is that the Bandit's songs will never be heard on commercial airways. Nothing is sacred and no person is safe from ridicule when the Bandit is around.
